Facts about Agassiz School Library
- There was no physical existing library when I took on the position as librarian
- The library is now the hub of our school, with classes signing up for open lab times throughout the day
- We have over 10,000 books in the library
- Over 1,400 books circulated in the month of October
- The average age of the collection is 1999, which includes the fiction section
- We recently have purchased 26 iPads which are housed in the library. One of the purposes of the iPads is to have ereaders available for students who are struggling or reluctant readers.
- There is no city, state or federal money that is allocated to the library. All materials purchased for the library have been bought with grants, donations, and book fair sales.
